How to measure each bridle piece for your horse!

To find the best size of each bridle piece for your horse, follow instructions on the guides using a soft measuring tape. If you do not have a soft measuring tape, you can mark a piece of string and use that to get your measurements. If you have any questions about the sizing don’t hesitate and contact us.

Crownpiece

A. Measure from where your browband would sit (the base of your horse’s ear), up over the poll, to the opposite ear base.

Cheek piece
A. Measure from the corner of your horse’s mouth to the top of the eye.
Make sure to take your bit into account when selecting a size – taller bits (such as pelhams or elevators) will require shorter cheek pieces to sit correctly in your horse’s mouth.
Add 8 cm to the number of cm you measured to calculate the approximate size. Or measure up the cheek pieces that you use now. Our sizes are from the top of the buckle until the end of the strap.

With love care for your bridle.

How to take care of the leather

Although our products are pretty though it is important to look after it carefully as with any luxury equipment.

The wax and natural oils used to coat the leather of our products will protect the leather, and therefore if left unused for some time a natural white bloom can happen on the surface. These are waxes coming up and can be remove by simply rub it away with a soft cloth. The most appropriate way to clean our products is to wipe it gentle with a soft damp cloth and then leave it to dry naturally in a place without strong heat. Applying a little leather conditioiner when needed will help protect and nourish the leather so that your UNIQ Bridles item will last for many years.
